I am a fifth generation Floridian, born and raised in Marion County. I strive to capture the serenity and peacefulness I find in central Florida landscapes on a canvas using oil and acrylic paint. Painting on location can add so much more than just paint to a canvas. There are many more things our senses pick up when we are there in the moment: smells, sounds, varying light, and infinitesimal color changes. As an artist, there is nothing to quite as astonishing as being able to express all of these sensory images when creating a piece of art and helping others find the serenity I feel while watching the scene emerge around me.
